Greeting from the Chair of ILCC2018 to be held at Kyoto
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you all to come to Kyoto for 27th International Liquid Crystal Conference (ILCC2018) from 22 to 27 July 2018. The conference will be held in Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto) which has one of the most functional and sophisticated facilities in Japan.
The international Liquid Crystal Conferences have provided excellent opportunities for sharing new ideas, stimulating discussions, and exchange of information for researchers and engineers in the fields of liquid crystal science and technology since the first conference was held in Kent State University in 1965. In the ILCC2018, in addition to general sessions associated with the traditional liquid crystal science and technology, the scientific program committee provides special sessions which aim at promoting interchanges between researchers and engineers working in the field of liquid crystals and other related areas. We also arrange social programs, to include a conference dinner, and some wonderful sightseeing tours in and around Kyoto.
Kyoto is one of the most historical and traditional city in the world. Since AD 794, Kyoto had been the capital city in Japan over 1000 years until Meiji restoration in 1868. In modern age, the capitol of Japan moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. Now many tourists and visitors are enjoying so many traditional temples, shrines, gardens, arts, and foods in Kyoto. At the same time, advanced researches on science and technology are carried out in universities, institutes, and companies.
We hope that ILCC2018 will prove opportunities for participants to meet with each other, to make a lasting development in our research field through various presentations and discussion, and to build friendships.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Kyoto!
